The Worst Films of 2011

Continuing my look back at the year that was 2011, the time has come to list the worst films of the year. As great as 2011 was, it had more than its fair share of stinkers. While independent and foreign films flourished, 2011 was one of Hollywood's weakest in a long time. Here are the cinematic low points of the year:

1
APOLLO 18
Killer moon rocks. Do I really need to say anything else? This mind-numbingly awful found footage horror flick sets a new low in a subgenre that has more than worn out its welcome.

2
THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE II (FULL SEQUENCE)
This never ending parade of grotesqueries isn't just disgusting, it's soul killing. Tom Six's merry collection of hideous images is like a bad joke without a punchline. But the joke, ultimately, is on us.

3
FILM SOCIALISME
Jean-Luc Godard finally disappears up his own ass with this pretentious film "essay" that is both doggedly impenetrable and frustratingly mired in Godard's pointless crusade to declare the end of cinema. If this is the medium's future, count me out.

4
ELEKTRA LUXX
Does anyone remember anything about this film? No? Neither do I.

5
THE ROOMMATE
Lazy, boring teen thriller does little more than check off a laundry list of teen horror clichés. Enter at your own risk.

Dishonorable Mentions
The Rite, Putty Hill, Happy Feet Two, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Pt. 1, Colombiana, Red State, Battle: Los Angeles, Sucker Punch.
