I was there too! Sat night and heard the director and lead actor. It is soooo good. This film is not magic black man saves white man. The NY Times was enough for me to know it was not that. It was an amazing film, so emotional so human, funny but also sad, and the lead actors are amazing. My boyfriend, whom I thought wouldn't like it, really liked it a lot too. He didn't cry, but I think he almost did. Go see it!

Agreed. This isn't "Driving Mr. Daisy." Glad to hear you liked it.
Spread the word!
I envy Mary's "director discussion" screening! I was there on Sunday for the early show, and it was a magical experience!
Bahrani will be at the River Run Film Festival for the film's NC premiere later this month. I hope to be able to attend.
