On "Water for Elephants"

As a movie it is undeniably beautiful. The production design is top-notch, nailing the Depression-era circus atmosphere. Waltz, who can play a psychopathic creep like no other, turns in yet another terrifying performance as the villainous August. The central romance, however, feels undercooked.
