Maybe so many people like Juno because it's refreshingly different. Although the subject matter is serious, the design and tone of the movie are much lighter than, say, There Will Be Blood or No Country for Old Men.

That said, I am still surprised that Juno got nominated for an Oscar. While I did enjoy the film, I never expected it to get an Oscar nod.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36921766.post-16229601420043217452008-01-26T12:10:00.000-05:002008-01-26T12:10:00.000-05:00well, i have been looking for about this movie and...well, i have been looking for about this movie and i think there are a lot of movies like this, a teenager embarased I have not seen yet beacuse in Spain the movies came later that there, but i am bored with this type of movies, and if the conservativs like it i am really sure i won´t see it.
About Almodovar, it´s not my favourite director. His movies are very similars in a lot of things. I have see "all about my mother", "talk with her", and some more what i don´t remeber. But ever speak about the problems of real life. And what i really don´t like are theclothes and the decoration, i know that is a "symbol" of Almodovar, but i hate it. I have not seem the last one yet "Volver", but the actress is Penelope, and i don´t like her ,I prefer wait the next one of Almodovar.
see ya (really sorry for my english)Yosiempre!!!https://www.blogger.com/profile/05434596120182069998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36921766.post-85633303508066175282008-01-26T10:39:00.000-05:002008-01-26T10:39:00.000-05:00Lol, I copied this into Word, and only then could ...Lol, I copied this into Word, and only then could I make sense of it. Clever indeed.

You know I love Juno, but I didn't expect it to get a BP nomination at all. Okay I did, but I wasn't sure if it deserved one. I have yet to see No Country and TWBB and Michael Clayton and a whole lot more, but I saw Into The Wild and I think it totally deserved a BP nomination.

I think Juno was different from anything else this year (not conceptually but how everything was written and portrayed, and that is why I was attracted to it initially. And that is why I still love it. I am working on that thing about why Juno should win BP, so expect that soon Matt. LaterAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
